No such thing as coincidence

So I realized it's been since Thanksgiving that I blogged! Where have I been?! Well...I've been here and there and a few concerts (concerts? me? no way!). I've been to Knoxville for Winter Wonder Slam, did a little ice skating (if you can call what I did "skating" ;), went to several Christmas parties and caught up with several friends, took my parents to our first UK Bball game as a family, and went to Virginia for a week of fun with ALL the Hawk crazies =). It was a blast that we could all be together (even our cheesefry friends came down with us to play!)

But besides all this...here's the main point of this blog. GOD'S TIMING IS PERFECT. And he has such a sense of humor and knows exactly what (and who) we need and when we will need this thing or person. I know we've talked about this before amongst ourselves but it still just blows my mind...My first concert with these girls I consider to be practically family by now was on May 3rd, 2008 in Indianapolis, IN. The night before was probably one of the most eyeopening nights of my life. Without going into all the details, I saw two of my good friends get completely obliterated and I had to leave early. I'd seen them do this before but I don't know..something inside me just clicked all of a sudden. I'm sure that was God. And I'm sure I looked ridiculous but I just had to call my parents to come get me because one of the friends that was wasted was the one who had given me a ride there. I knew I needed to stop hanging out with these people but I didn't know how. The next day, God gave me that way out. He presented me with a group of friends who I hope will be forever friends and people that I've had some of the most fun of my life with! And the way we met was just amazing. I just happened to start talking to Katy on Myspace 2 or 3 years ago..In fact, I'm pretty sure we met in a Clay Aiken group. Out of everyone on Myspace, somehow we connected. Then, Katy met Jesi through who else but the Backstreet Boys..Sarah too. And of course, Jesi then (well, before this time) met Christina and Kelly through Plus One. Music, in some way, shape, or form, has brought us all together. Not all at once but a little at a time. God has been slowly putting us all together to form this group that fits perfectly together. I never could have dreamed or expected it would happen this way, yet at the same time I can't imagine my life turning out any differently.

It just has to be God that we like many of the same bands (at least the important ones) and thus have something that we all enjoy doing and talking about together. I mean, really? Who, these days, is still as obsessed with the Backstreet Boys as we are? I don't know that many...(Or Nsync, or any of those other fabulous boy bands...) It's too perfect! It just makes me laugh at God's sense of humor and His sense of timing. Sometimes it's almost too much to fathom!

We have been SO blessed! Not many people have the great opportunity to become so close with some bands that are so respected and loved by many! I would have never thought that members of a famous band would know me by name. What makes me so special?! GOD thinks we're that special -- and therefore wants to bless us! Isn't it amazing that when you are at your lowest point, God brings you out of it and brings you up to the mountaintop. Never have the words to the Audio Adrenaline song been more true in my life: "I get down, he lifts me up, I get down, he lifts me up..."

Despite my shortcomings, God saw me worthy enough and gave me such great opportunities and blessings! I am ecstatic to see what more he has in store for me in the future =)

and some say God isn't creative!

it is amazing to know that we aren't worthy of any of it, but it's all b/c of the love of our Father!
