This time around

I cannot believe it's been since right after New Years that I blogged! Unacceptable! This has been such a huge year in my life that I guess I haven't even had time to think about writing it down! But I know I'll be glad to look back at it one day so here goes! =) Two big things that happened in my life were (1) my graduation from college in May and (2) my big move to the COMPLETE opposite side of the country! It's been tough at times but God has been with me through it all and continues to be there! It is a scary but exciting time in my life and it seems like things are coming together and I'm seeing the reasons behind some things now. The experience is definitely bringing me closer to Him, which is very important! I'll update more later but just wanted to write a short update to let the few out there who read this know that I'm still alive! =)

Midnight New Years Eve

I can't believe we're already 2 weeks into the new year but I'm finally getting around to this one! I typed some of this stuff earlier because I knew I would forget it and didn't want to! New Years Eve 2010 was officially one of the best new years EVER!!! I made several new friends and spend the last few hours of 2009 at..what better place but..a concert! :) Here's some of the highlights:

*Kristen: "This is the first thing I've put in my mouth since I put it in my mouth yesterday."
*Friendly's tweeting me and Kristen (tweeting me TWICE!)
*Jay: "Watch out for it. They're gonna raise the kiss, not lower it."
*Alex straightening the table cloth at M&G
*Random girl in crowd saying she had to get in front of us because she was from "out of state"
*Mike and Andy remember Kristen!!
*Alex eating his bandmates, his drums, his fingers, our scrapbook, Halli...everything!
*Andy: "Stay warm out there! We're gonna party like it's midnight new years eve!"
*Gayne Wetsky at midnight!! My first time seeing it in person haha <3
*Alex the GPS and driving on Noyes road
*Andy helping Kristen with my camera and taking a picture of something random with it
*Andy: "Oh the railing is a little icy. Don't stand on it!"
*My teenie fight to start 2010
*Mike: "We always wanted to play a show on new years eve so we wrote this song" (Nobody Has to Know)
*Going "swimming" and "ice skating" in Hershey after midnight
*7-11 big gulps and our creepy cashier friend
*Andy drinking big gulp
*Our cameras completely failing after midnight
*Alex wearing no coat for first half of set; ridiculous ugly sweater hat after midnight
*Mike: (After the cheering wasn't as loud as he thought it should be) "I'm a little nervous. Are you sticking with us next year?"
*Theme for 2010: ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN
*Guys hugging at midnight. Adorable.
*Cherry poppin' daddies...enough said
*Our scrapbook
*The guys' cute speeches before DCTB
*Meeting/Hanging out with new friends! - Kristen, Katie, Halli, and more!

*Alex talking to the countdown kids after midnight. PRECIOUS!
*"Alex ate Andy!"........."Andy's alive!"
*Chicken strips, EXTRA honey mustard, and monster mashes

*Everything's closed on New Years...YouTube party!
*D*ck in a box at Friendly's
*Scrapbook party
*Ghetto mall - Bon Ton and CVS
*Woman at CVS: "Your shirt is up in the back"
*Stampede to the stage
*Seeing Alvin & the Chipmunks 2 and squealing when HS came on
*Kristen: All I got out of that is "Alex is reading a romantic drama"
Me: "Andy probably recommended it"
Kristen: "He probably won't even read it, he's probably just going to start eating it"
*Listening to Fashionably Late 8 1/2 times on the way home
*You have overstayed your welcome ANDY!
*Kristen running into Ned on way out of M&G
*LOTS of double sided tape
*The guys walking past us in line for the show and no one even knew

There are SOOOO many more things I probably forgot but that's good for now! And now, a few rules we learned from this trip:

(1) It's NEVER too cold for ice cream!
(2) Don't stand in the front row of a concert with a giant sign that obstructs the view of everyone behind you
(3) Don't play your iPhone music in a restaurant unless it's family friendly. It might turn on and not turn off.
(4) If anything/anyone is missing, Alex probably ate it
(5) Teenie fights are lots of fun and bring great memories for a long time to come
(6) Buy WAY more double sided tape than you ever thought you'd ever need
(7) If it's New Years Day, just stay home. Everything closes early anyway.

This trip was SO much fun and I can't WAIT for another one really, really soon with these amazing girls to see those fantastic gentlemen =)

2009...a year in pictures

I've wanted to do this blog for a few days now and I figured since it looks like this outside (keep in mind, this is a lot for KY)

and Abby is taking a nap,

I figured there's no better time! So this blog is as much for anyone who happens to read it as it is for myself! It is so fun looking back on the year that was. It was a crazy year with a lot of traveling and millions of unforgettable memories. So here we begin. In the words of the great Aaron Carter, "and it goes a little somethin like this, hit it!"

(1) Finished out 2008 and rang in 2009 with some of my best girlfriends at Winterfest in Virginia! While there, we...

gave Jon the best Christmas present ever
jigged to some Nova Scotia
snuck into the front row (where we belong!)
made some new friends

loved our nuts

and had some FUN! ringing in the new year!
(2) UK actually cancelled classes for a day due to a huge ice storm!

(3) Did a LOT of Winterjamming (and by a lot, I mean only 6)..Not much compared to some people ;) It seemed like it took up a lot more of my life than that though. AMAZING tour!!! Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Knoxville, Lexington, and Nashville FTW!

(4) I started my own business with Mary Kay!! I've met some amazing women and learned some mad business skills.

(5) Went to Nashvegas for Spring Break...

...oh yeah with a random side trip to Panama City, Florida for a day or two

(6) Went to a couple Rock and Worship Roadshows (Rodeos) - One in Columbus, One in Iowa...two days apart...those are close right?

(7) FInally met HUSBAND!!! Freaking. David. Cook. I officially couldn't breathe when I met him. And the way I got to meet him...spectacular. Just amazing.

(8) Got a PUPPY! Abigail (also known as Abby, Abs, Absie, Abby-Doo, Poo Poo, etc...somehow she seems to respond to all of them)! She's a maltipoo and was 8 months when we got her and we celebrated her 1st birthday in September!! She definitely has a big personality and always keeps us laughing.

(9) Went on a girls trip to Kalamazoo, Michigan! It was here that the Sisterhood was formed

and went to a concert in a swimming pool (do not be alarmed, there was no water in it at the time! ;)

(10) Saw Phil a few times..LOVE him and his sweet, cute little wife!!!

(11) Met AARON CARTER. At a dance club. Enough said. Oh yeah one more thing...Heeeeyyyyyyy!

(12) Went to Washington/Oregon/Idaho for family time (oh and a couple concerts!)...SO good to be home!!! I miss my family (and the beautiful scenery) so much.

(13) Met/saw some American Idols

(14) Was a bridesmaid in a wedding for one of my new best friends!!

(15) Watched lots of UK football...(from the front row, might I add) through the good and bad. And rejoiced when basketball season finally came :)

(16) Had a very Apple-y August. Became a MacBook Pro and an iPhone user all within the span of a week. And then fell in love with said electronics and vowed never to return to their competitors.

(17) Celebrated my 21st birthday about 5 or 6 different times

(18) Took a little pre-Christmas vacation to Nashvegas

(19) Got a chance to take my dad to our first Bengals game. And we won -- and clinched our status as AFC North Champions!!

(20) Rang in 2010 "partying like its midnight New Years Eve" with one of my new favorite bands (Honor Society) and some of my new favorite friends!!! I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot more of them in 2010 =)

If 2009 was any indication as to how spectacular 2010 will be, I say bring it on! "Anything can happen." This year, I already know that I'll graduate college and get my first "big girl" job. And heavens knows a few more concerts here and there are in order ;) Here's to 2010, my 22nd year on earth =)
